Top 4 CCRN Test Prep Resources

Here are my top 5 CCRN test prep resources that helped me as I was prepping for my CCRN exam.

Pass CCRN 5th Edition

The 'Pass CCRN' test prep resource was great for me. The content is extremely detailed, but I found the end of each chapter reviews effective for grasping high-yield critical concepts. That said, I saw the most benefit from the 1,000 multiple-choice review questions on the companion Evolve website. The rationales are excellent, and there is much to gain from reading through each one. I felt that doing this many questions conditioned me for the real exam. The new edition follows the latest CCRN® Adult exam blueprint very closely. I highly recommend 'Pass CCRN' to anyone preparing for the exam.

Barron’s CCRN

The 'Pass CCRN' test prep resource was instrumental in my CCRN exam preparation. The content was clear and concise, focusing on critical subject areas with detailed reviews on Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Concepts (the bulk of the exam). The Professional Caring and Ethical Practice Concepts were presented in an easy-to-digest outline format, making the learning process efficient and enjoyable.

I particularly appreciated the book's format, which seamlessly integrates subject reviews with practice questions and answers explanations. The book's two full-length practice CCRN tests, each containing 150 multiple-choice questions with fully explained answers, immensely helped me gauge my understanding and readiness for the actual exam.

Moreover, the online practice exam was a fantastic addition, offering detailed answer explanations and scoring to refine my test-taking strategy further.

While the book alone is a robust resource, pairing it with the 'Pass CCRN' question bank made for the ultimate combo, providing ample practice questions for review and study. I would highly recommend Barron’s CCRN test prep book.

AACN Resources

The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) Test Prep resource when getting started on your journey to CCRN certification. It offers comprehensive information about the CCRN exam, including the examination blueprint. This blueprint is a clear, step-by-step guide that takes you through the exam structure, from cardiovascular and pulmonary domains to the minutiae of professional caring and ethical practice, ensuring you have an in-depth understanding of the test's layout. I would always start with the free resources that are provided by the test writers themselves!

Laura Gasparis

I loved Laura Gasparis CCRN Test Prep. It's not your regular, dry learning material; instead, it's a fun and flexible resource that makes studying feel less like a chore. It's fantastic for squeezing in some extra prep while you're on the move, hitting the gym, or any time you can't sit down and plow through pages of content. But the real winner is Laura's style - she's hilarious and has a knack for spinning the tough stuff into funny anecdotes that stick in your brain. Remembering tricky concepts has never been easier (or more entertaining). So, if you're gearing up for the CCRN, check out this test prep. It's like learning from a friend who makes every minute count.
